2014 Capacity Increased To 35,000!

Following yesterday’s approval from Squamish Municipal Council, Live Nation Canada and brand.LIVE are very pleased to announce the site capacity for next year’s Squamish Valley Music Festival has been increased to 35,000 per day.

As the festival looks forward to celebrating its fifth year in 2014, it will be moving on to the Centennial Fields, which neighbours the current location at Hendrickson Fields & Logger Sports Ground. This expansion will allow for additional programming, increased camping, improved transportation, and access to a broader range of talent, paving the way for continued growth.

“This expansion announcement is very exciting news for the District of Squamish and is a testament to the great partnership we have formed with  brand.LIVE and now with Live Nation Canada,” says District of Squamish Mayor Rob Kirkham. “With our proximity to Vancouver and our incredible scenery and community hospitality, Squamish is very well positioned to be the setting for the largest and most exciting festival in the region. We are thrilled with this news and look forward to supporting this vision.”

“We are incredibly excited about the prospect of working with brand.LIVE to host some of the biggest names the world has to offer,” commented Paul Haagenson, President, Live Nation Canada. “With an unprecedented demand for this year’s festival, it is clear that fans are clamoring for more, and the District of Squamish has just facilitated our ability to deliver that. We couldn’t be more excited about the future of the festival.”

“We’ve been working towards this expansion for several years so it’s a very rewarding day for us,” said Executive Producer for brand.LIVE, Paul Runnals. “The support and co-operation we have received from the community and District officials has been vital in helping us get to this point, and we are grateful to the many fans who have been so encouraging along the way.”

This year’s festival will run August 8, 9 and 10 at Hendrickson Fields & Logger Sports Ground, and will feature performances by Queens of the Stone Age, Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pretty Lights, Gogol Bordello, Dan Mangan, and many more.
